2004 Events

• December 25, 8 pm – whenever – 11^th Annual Gefilte Fish Gala (at Polly Esther’s, 605 12th St NW Washington D.C. Metro: Metro Center).  YJLPAC is proud to sponsor this event!  Eat, drink, and dance — 70′s, 80′s 90′s, 00′s, Salsa, and Swing.  Ages 21-30 lower floor, 30+ upper floor. Featuring: 4 Levels, 5 Dance Floors, 8 Bars, Smoke-Free Floor, Kosher Pizza, Drink Specials, Door Prizes and more.  All profits donated to charity, including the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  $5 suggested donation. Also collecting canned goods and clothing for the needy. Casual attire. • December 8, 6:30 – 9:30 pm – Hannukah Happy Hour on the Hill (at The Pour House (formerly Politiki, 319 Pennsylvania Avenue, Capital South metro). $5 cover at the door. Drink specials will include $2.50 Pour House Amber, $3.00 Bud Light, $3.50 Rail Cocktails, and more. YJLPAC cosponsors this big event with other area Jewish groups. • October 6 at 6:45 pm – Roundtable with Rep. Mike Rogers (MI), followed by Second Candidate Allocations Meeting @ the NRCC conference room. All members who have paid their 2004 dues are welcome to come and vote on which candidates we will fund. If you have not paid your dues yet you may do so at the meeting.(Reminder: Membership dues are $125 for the year. If you have any questions concerning your dues please contact our Finance Vice-Chair David Eiselsberg). To RSVP or if you wish to nominate a candidate for allocations, please send their name to Political Vice Chair Jim Kaplan. Please include a brief summary of why you think that candidate should receive money before Friday October 1st. [RSVP]
• September 28 – Happy Hour at Cap City Brewery (across from Union Station, 2 Mass. Ave., NW, in the Postal Building).  Look for the YJLPAC group in the bar area at the far end from the entrance. This event is open to everyone and not limited to members. If you plan to attend, please e-mail Bill Levenson.
• September 12 – Annual Skybox Event: Baltimore Orioles vs. New York Yankees at Camden Yards
• August 5 at 7:00pm – First Candidate Allocations Meeting @ the NRCC conference room. All members who have paid their 2004 dues are welcome to come and vote on which candidates we will fund. If you have not paid your dues yet you may do so at the meeting. (Reminder: Membership dues are $125 for the year. • July 28, 6:30-8:30pm – YJLPAC Happy Hour @ Caddies on Cordell, 4822 Cordell Ave., a short walk from the Bethesda Metro, between Old Georgetown Road and Woodmont Ave. YJLPAC will have the upstairs area reserved, where at 7:30 p.m. we will hear from Nir Boms, a fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, who will speak on democratic reforms in the Arab world. Nir frequently writes on this subject in National Review Online, National Journal, the Washington Times, and the Wall Street Journal. [RSVP]
